FAQ

What types of portrait commissions are avaialable?

Portrait commissions are available in the following media:

Do I need to pay in advance the full commission amount?

You don’t have to pay the full amount before the portrait is started. However, the artists needs a 40% non-refundable deposit to be paid in advance. This amount will be deducted from the final amount.

What forms of payment are accepted?

The preferred payment method is by eTransfer. However, you may pay by credit card or account through PayPal, by cryptocurrency or by cash (local pick-up only in the Ottawa area). Visit the Payment page for more details.

I am located outside Canada. Can I pay in other currency than Canadian dollars?

If you are paying by PayPal, the exchange rate to Canadian dollars ($CAD) is calculated automatically by PayPal. To find out the current exchange rate, check the XE Currency Converter’s Live Rates.  For any questions, contact the artist directly.

How long will it take for the portrait to be ready?

It will depend on the size of the portrait. Usually, the wait time is about 2 weeks.

Can several pictures be combined into one group portrait?

Yes, in most of the cases they can be combined.

If the portrait will be a present to someone for a specific day, can I ask for a rush request?

Usually, yes. More often than not, your request will be completed sooner than the regular time. However, this depends on the artist’s work load at the time. If you are considering the portrait as present for Christmas, a birthday, or Valentine’s Day, you should order it at least a month in advance.

Will I be able to see the portrait before it is shipped?

Yes, when the portrait is nearly finished, the artist will email you a photo proof of the portrait.

Can I ask for changes to the portrait? How many times?

When you get the photo proof of the nearly finished portrait, you may ask for as many changes as you like, until the portrait is to your liking. The artist will try to comply with your requests if those changes are still possible to be made. However, in some cases, changes will not be possible unless the whole artwork is recreated.

Do I still have to pay if I don’t like the finished portrait?

If the artist made every attempt to make changes to the portrait and you still don’t like it, you don’t have to pay for it. However, 25% of the total price you paid in advance will be retained by the artists for her time and materials spent.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, the artists ships world-wide. Shipping will be done by Canada Post. Visit the Shipping & Returns page for more details.

If I am not satisfied with the received portrait, can I get a refund?

Yes.  If you are not fully satisfied with the received portrait for any of the reasons outlined in the Shipping & Returns page, you can get a refund.
